1). The pump had to be redesigned to stop leaking through the "external" female ports. No matter what I tried, I couldn't stop the leak. Eventually it was determined that the internal threads were either not deep enough or the inside diameter of the bore was too large and the amount of thread sealant provided was not sufficient to stop the leak. Luckily I have a 1/4 NPT faucet and I cut the hole another 1/8 inch or so and that stopped the leak. In an ideal world I would have returned the pump as soon as a leak was discovered, but I really needed it now to complete the project so I decided to recycle it instead - and spent an extra 1-1/2 hours taking them apart and repairing Of course I didn't have to do what I did to fix such an obvious defect. 2) It's a miracle the pump wasn't damaged in transit. Whoever packed it simply took the pump (in a thin cardboard box) and threw it in a large shipping carton. No bubble wrap, pillows, paper wrap. Nothing that could protect the pump from damage. bounces in the crate during transport. Shippers should know better. However, the good news is that the pump works pretty well and meets all my features and expectations, hence I give it 3 stars.
