Review on 🔧 Optimized Expansion Tank Cap by URO Parts - 17137516004 by Mike Travers

The expansion tank on my 2008 48i E70 X5 decided to end it all at 109,000 miles. And of course it didn't work out when we were on a family trip in Montana - about 1,000 miles from home. Knowing that an X-Tank failure could be caused by a faulty cap, I decided to purchase a new tank and cap. After reading a lot of online recommendations I was somehow convinced that I should only buy genuine BMW cooling system parts - apparently brainwashed and blind to the fact that these were genuine BMW parts that had just failed at the worst possible moment . As luck would have it, there are no BMW dealerships in Montana and no quick way to get genuine BMW parts to Bozeman at a reasonable price. This reality made me scour Revain for anything that could be delivered the next day. Luck led me to this product from URO. Revane promised that he would be taken to where I was staying in about 36 hours. I ordered the part thinking it would be good enough to get me home and thought I would trade it in for a genuine BMW part at the first opportunity. That was the plan when I pressed the BUY button. Today the goods arrived on time and well packaged. After examining the part, it was really indistinguishable from an original BMW part. It really looked like it was made with the same tooling. Labels, molding lines and injection points were identical to the original. The fit as well as the material color and workmanship were perfect. I installed a new X tank with ease, flushed and primed the cooling system (when checking the gauge), sealed it with a new cap, and then tested it with some hard riding in Montana summer weather with the AC on full blast. No questions. I am very pleased with the quality and "OEM" look of this non-BMW part. The ordered tank also turned out to be a great spare part, optically absolutely identical to the original tank. If not I will come back to update this review but so far I am very happy with this piece. PS: I'm a licensed mechanic and can usually spot debris when it's in front of me. If the quality of these parts is lower than OEM quality, consider me cheated!
