Review on πŸ” Dino-Lite USB Digital Microscope AM3111 - 0.3MP, 10x to 50x, 230x Optical Magnification, with 8 LED Lights by Timothy Richmond

Professional Rating - Higher price, poor features

I'm a pro microscope by trade so bank this rating. Model AM311: Price $150. The LED lighting and lens quality are excellent, any lens errors at this magnification are small and not a problem. Big problem and design flaw: the focus is not adjusted regardless of the magnification, for small objects the magnification limit becomes a physical distance. Closeness to the lens is limited by a ridiculously rigid plastic attachment, so not very close. The actual magnification used is at best 7x to 9x when the maximum output pixel size is selected. Even cheap phones have megapixel cameras. How hard is it to reach resolutions higher than 640x640? This is an overpriced fixed field stereoscope using 10 year old image capture technology. It costs around $40.
