Sturdy construction and extremely easy to use. I downloaded and installed the software from the Dino-Lite website onto my Windows 10 laptop, plugged in the Dino-Lite and it immediately started displaying images. The focus/zoom controls work well. With a slight adjustment to the focus controls, the laptop produced bright, clear images. A resolution of 640 x 480 pixels is a lot. I am very happy with this little device. Highly recommended.

If you are a biology teacher this simple device is a MUST HAVE. This allows you to bring material into the classroom and project the microscope image directly onto the screen. You can see flowers and leaves, bacterial colonies in a petri dish, moving soil fauna, insects and more. You can record videos or take still pictures. This is a nice addition to my workshop as it allows me to check on details and work that would otherwise be impossible. When sharpening knives with my Wicked Edge sharpener, I can closely inspect the edge of the blade while it's still in the jig. This is a convenient, easy to set up and use device. The only thing I would change about my choice would be to order one with a polarizing filter to reduce reflection on metal surfaces (knives, watches, etc.) to "see" more of what I'm looking for…

I'm a pro microscope by trade so bank this rating. Model AM311: Price $150. The LED lighting and lens quality are excellent, any lens errors at this magnification are small and not a problem. Big problem and design flaw: the focus is not adjusted regardless of the magnification, for small objects the magnification limit becomes a physical distance. Closeness to the lens is limited by a ridiculously rigid plastic attachment, so not very close. The actual magnification used is at best 7x to 9x…
