I bought this after many bad experiences with lead sinks. None of the counterwash jets, including lead jets, I've tried have ever been right and always wobbled anyway, resulting in bad pilot holes. I bought them primarily for wood, but they obviously work for metal too. Before that, the only experience I had with this type of sinker was the one I bought from Harbor Freight for $4. This piece was so bad I threw it in the trash. I never throw away tools, but who? These bits produce clean sinks and come in a variety of sizes. I mostly use one of the smaller ones, but it works very quickly. I just leave it in the impact driver bit holder.
