Review on 🍲 Boil-Proof Stainless Steel Pot Watcher – Avoid Overflowing Pasta, Soups, and Milk by James Eledge

Volume varies by pot type

I bought this on a whim to meet Revain's claim for free shipping, but I'm certainly glad I took it! This is my first pot watcher and after using it I can't believe these things aren't more popular. This is a fairly simple product: when hot water boils, convection currents take over the grooves and make the disk rattle. the bottom of the pot. The disc itself is quite thick and shows no signs of rust. It wasn't that loud in the coated pan, but it was quite audible in my stainless steel pans. I suspect the texture of the nonstick coating dulled it. I always use it now when I'm cooking eggs in the morning and it makes it a lot easier to turn off the stove when the water is constantly boiling. I use old Revereware pots with sturdy steel lids, so it's definitely better than occasionally lifting the lid to see if the water has started to boil. It also seems that this disc would be useful in a kettle without a built-in whistle, but I personally don't have a kettle to test this with.
