I should have read a lot of negative reviews about it, I thought they were just an exception to the rule. I have the same issues as every other negative review here. connected devices simply fall out. My MacPro connects and disconnects every 5-7 minutes. My iPhone 7 used to boot at 60MB/s (on a cable modem with a 100MB download plan) when it worked, now it won't even connect. All devices appear as connected on the Linksys Smart Wifi network map, but none of them are actually connected to the internet. I'm not looking forward to going through all the "please reset your modem and router" nonsense from tech support and yes I have the latest firmware. I've flashed and reinstalled the firmware more than once, including a full factory reset and reconfiguration. All the same results. I have had this itinerary for 8 days at the time of writing this review and if I can't sort it out I will be returning this item. If I can find out what the problem is I will update this review. ***EDIT, 3 weeks after purchase**** After almost returning this item, I received tech support over the phone. As it turned out, my firmware wasn't the latest version. Checking for updates on the LinksysSmartWifi portal will NOT tell you that your firmware is out of date. You need to go to the Linksys website, click Support, locate your router, and then click Firmware. There I could see that I didn't have the latest firmware. After I updated this, the tech also had me change the name of the 5.0GHz band by adding _5 to the network name so the 2.4 and 5GHz network names are not the same. Also in the 2.4GHz network parameters, we disabled the channel from auto and set it to 6 and set the channel width to just 20MHz. This seems to have solved my problems and all my devices wirelessly are very fast and won't boot.
