Proceed with caution.

Pros: I liked that it has two USB ports for external storage. Cons: Needs constant reloading. Local Area Network (LAN) connections are constantly being dropped. Never worked more than two weeks. Died today (installed just 8 months ago) during a meeting with a customer. Very dissatisfied with this product. TO UPDATE. Contacted Linksys Technical Support. Spent over an hour updating the firmware, rebooting and resetting. The engineering department decided (finally) that the router needed to be…

Can't do more than 289 Mbit/s

Unbelievable that this product hit the market in a completely broken state. The router is hanging on channel 36 in the 20MHz band. , regardless of the actual wireless network setting. (Translation: You're stuck at 289Mbps, not 1300Mbps as promised.) I've tried rebooting, changing channels, disabling the guest account, disabling 2.4GHz, the firmware too update, downgrade the firmware and use a non-US firmware version. Nothing has changed in the behavior of this router. Nothing works…

Small problem with firmware (update)

I should have read a lot of negative reviews about it, I thought they were just an exception to the rule. I have the same issues as every other negative review here. connected devices simply fall out. My MacPro connects and disconnects every 5-7 minutes. My iPhone 7 used to boot at 60MB/s (on a cable modem with a 100MB download plan) when it worked, now it won't even connect. All devices appear as connected on the Linksys Smart Wifi network map, but none of them are actually connected to the…

It's an unstable piece of junk.

What did I like most? Nothing. B. Everything. This is nothing but a very expensive POS. Setting up the router was easy and worked fine for a while, then it just started dropping Wi-Fi randomly. If you can get WiFi to work all day, there aren't many changes you can make to the settings, or it just crashes and dies. It's an unstable piece of junk. Linksys "Support" is a joke, a scam and should be against the law. Obviously there is a serious problem with this router and Linksys is not going to do

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Good block as long as it lasts, unfortunately it is not very long

so not happy. Worked very well for about 6 months and then a severe drop in radio signal. The firmware has been updated, rolled back, updated. Channels have been changed. On average, 70% of the wireless signal is near the router. Drops 40 out of 15 feet down the hallway. Send all this information to Linksys, they couldn't understand. Message me to tech support who called me 3 times while I was at work and couldn't answer (didn't leave a callback number or information either). Then I get an…

A useless BS router that cannot stay connected.

Where to start with this useless tri-band router. I was using an Asus dual band router that was losing speed and decided to replace it with a brand that has been in the router game for a long time. This pos started once and crashed for me. After the final setup (after 20 minutes) I decided to do a speed test. This speed test went so badly that the WiFi connection keeps dropping out. I've only got speeds up to 20MB and that's right next to it. Did BOTH tracks 2.4 and 5.0 and got the same speeds.

65 devices connect easily on my 2,500 mΒ². ft.

This thing works great with all 65 appliances in my house. I can get service in my garage, all my devices can find the network and it's as fast as my modem can go (120Mbps). Has more features than I need but I need it for a home with many devices and fast internet coming out of the wall. No more range extenders or slow downloads.
