Review on Schwinn Koen Boys SmartStart Wheels by Josh Jeffries

I bought this bike for my 6 year old little boy after he outgrew his first bike, a 14 inch Specialized that we bought at a local bike shop. I really regret my purchase decision and wish we had spent a little more on a better bike. So there are a lot of issues with this bike. Firstly the instructions are not very good and seem to be intended for a range of bikes. not for the purpose - made for Koen. I haven't built too many bikes so I felt a bit unprepared to build Koen given the rather poor instructions. For example, the front brakes on a bicycle had to be adjusted because they weren't working properly. wheel contact. This is completely omitted from the instructions. Luckily I was able to find a video to view and list a similar bike online. Not like assembling a bike just before my son's birthday, wanting to surprise him and stuff. That meant his newly assembled bike was impossible to ride until we got the right component. The missing component is not even shown in the manual and there is no parts list! Getting the correct part was also a problem since (surprise!) there is no part number to list and Schwinn takes no responsibility for the bike, but dumps it. another company, Pacific Cycle, to obtain the component. I won't go into details but it wasn't a smooth process and after ignoring emails and sending the wrong part I finally received the correct component almost 30 days after the original purchase. After all this drama we still have problems with the bike. My son is still using wheels (we are working on this) and the wheels dangerously come off on their own. This happens even though I use tools to fully tighten the jockey wheel bolts. Our experience with the bike is frustrating because it looks really good and my son loves to ride it. But this is the first and last Schwinn bike my family will buy. Absolutely not recommended!
