I have a 27" iMac with two Thunderbolt ports. This USB-C won't connect. I tried my best, just embarrassed, nervous too and it won't connect. I have a separate USB-C SSD enclosure that plugs into both ports. just fine. It's not about the connectors, it's about the connector. I don't know what I'm doing I think it needs to be returned UPDATE: I exchanged the machine for a replacement machine thinking the item I received was defective, well the replacement was just as bad the lightning plug for it was CLOSED LOOSE!The connector didn't stay in, and even holding the connector didn't keep the connection alive.Not to mention the cable is so short it dangles weirdly from the back of your iMac.Plus, it was out of the box I am sure that the item I received this time had previously been returned. Why should you return a defective product to the buyer! I do not recommend this product or this company/brand. I'm surprised the reviews are so good. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I think it's unlikely.
