Most guillotine trimmers/cutters I've used in the past have had a wooden roller. It has a solid steel base. So that it does not scratch the table surface, it is supplied with four rubber feet and a practical spare part. The rubber feet slide easily into slots cut into the underside of the metal base. The presence of a metal roller allows you to secure the paper to be cut with the included 8 inch magnetic stick. Another feature I love about this paper cutter is that lowering the cutting blade also lowers the plastic rod. The rod helps secure the paper being cut and acts as a finger guard. Through my experience, there are two types of trimmed and trimmed paper that are particularly difficult for guillotine trimmers/cutters.
