Review on 🚴 Delta Cycle Stem Raiser Extender - Boost your Bike's Handlebar Height for a More Comfortable Ride by Jon Ford

The Delta Riser is good enough for Sheldon Brown

The Cannondale bike factory cut my head tube so I left the handlebars well below saddle height untreated. I've struggled and struggled with this for years. My local bike shop finally stocked this Delta riser. I gave it serious thought and then tossed the idea aside like corns on my immaculate bike. I started thinking about this idea when I saw a picture online of a Sheldon Brown (of Harris Cyclery) commuter bike that he was using at the time of his death. The photo appears to be of a Dela climber on Sheldon's Titan commuter bus. I ordered it from Revain. In my opinion, the Delta block has been rebuilt. The metal is thicker than the metal on my Richie stems. The machine work and glossy finish are impressive. I did not expect such a carefully made product. However, it was too narrow to fit my aluminum Cannondale stem. I used a tiny drum sander on a Dremel tool to open up the delta just enough to fit. No problem. I put on my Richie stem and measured the thickness of the spacers I would need. I used some carbon fiber spacers. On the bottom pad I used the same Dremel drum sander to create a bevel that exactly matches the bevel on the delta block. Delta is shiny, spacers are shiny. One has to be very picky to say that the overall visual effect is not very good. I'm glad I went this route.
