not locked after a year

so i got this in 2020 and it's now 2021 and it's not locked anymore. Key goes in and turns but won't lock. The mechanism in the handle must have stopped working, so it's practically useless now. I mean you can use it to open and close the door but you can actually lock your room which defeats the purpose. So disappointed.
