I don't have a ceramic grill. But I needed a Nomex pad for the 2 smokers I have. This is the first time I've used this type of Nomex tape to seal my smokers' doors. From a 15ft roll there was plenty for my needs. The thickness of the felt pile is 3 mm. If the incisions are not made completely, you can tear the edge of the felt with low angles or frays. The adhesive is very sticky so just peel a little from the backing at a time to attach and stick. I suggest using a sharpie marker to mark the length and using sharp scissors to cut to length. Better yet, use an exacto knife. Razor-sharp, the Exacto knife cuts deep and cleanly into all curves or hard-to-reach places. Use a straight edge for precise cuts.
