Updated Tuya software prevents Tasmota OTA firmware. Serial flashing still works, but it requires a skilled hand at soldering to simplify the process. Basically there is no solder on the TX and RX chips so you have to add something to attach the wires and that might be all it takes for an untrained hand to strip pads, burn circuits etc. Not that I would know. In any case, a successful serial flush will get you Tasmota and a much more useful, relatively cheap, smart way out of the Chinese cloud.
