I ordered this with the intention of using it on my desk while I work so my fingers are warm while typing. My fingers get so cold in winter that I've been looking for a small heater to blow warm air around the keyboard. Although this heater is a bit large for my desk, the low profile and low heat output made it a good option. Unfortunately, the heating is too loud for my desk. I would have to turn it off to answer the phone. There are two heat settings, but only one fan speed. The heat was lukewarm at best with no risk of burning, so this would have been a good fan for a child's room. There is a spring loaded knob on the bottom of the heater. So if you tilt or lift it, the heater will turn off. Due to the noisy fan, I will most likely use it under my desk to keep my feet warm.
