We bought this unit to dry our five wheel trailer during a wet winter in the western Pacific Northwest (USA). TWO dehumidifiers and a BIG DampRid weren't enough. (OUR UNIT DOES NOT HAVE A PUMP). Connected Hose (hose not included): 1. Works great for our 38ft fifth wheel stored in an unheated building with the oven's lowest temp set at 45 degrees Fahrenheit. UNIT DRYING MOISTURE AT/ABOVE ROOM TEMPERATURE 41 Fahrenheit. 2. Humidity dropped 20% in the first hour of new use at 54 degrees Fahrenheit on 5th wheel in mid-January. Maintains humidity within 2 percentage points of the setting (we chose 55%). Turns off when the device reaches the user. programmed humidity level BUT THE FAN KEEPS RUNNING, tasting the air and telling the compressor to turn on. Back to continue dehumidifying, however, it works very quickly to remove more deposits (less than 4-5 minutes).5. The built in timer can be used for EITHER Auto-On OR Auto-Off. 4 stars because I can't turn it on for 12 hours and turn it off completely for 12 hours. Let's see how long this unit lasts with the fan running 24/7, currently set to 'high' for the first 24 hours of use. That's ALL we use it for so no experience with basements, bathrooms etc this particular dehumidifier. I would expect it to work just as well, if not better, in a heated apartment, but I can't be sure it will work in the other areas we use it for. I recommend this device for those who want to drain their RV. NOT FOR OUTDOOR USE. MUST BE IN A LEAKING VEHICLE (doors/windows/all vents FULLY CLOSED).
