I cannot stress enough how important it is to use a proven high quality spark plug like this NGK Iridium in our new vehicles. On older cars built before 1996, the decision to replace the spark plug was important, but not as critical as it is on newer cars today. Today's modern engines are so complex that using a lower quality part or a slightly different design than original equipment can cause major problems. it was for me In a nutshell. I bought an unnamed plug. Yes it was Iridium and yes Mazda said right on top of the plug so I figured it would be perfect, OEM, Mazda is better than aftermarket. Over the course of 5000 miles I checked the engine with multiple codes. Since I just changed the spark plugs, it wasn't on the "what's up" list. After spending a lot of time and money replacing suspect parts, my next step is to have my 2014 Mazda 3 professionally diagnosed and repaired. I decided to make one last attempt at replacing the spark plugs again with these NGKs after reading so many great reviews. The car runs perfectly and all codes have disappeared after installing these NGK plugs. PLEASE learn from my mistake. Go ahead and invest in trusted branded parts. If the price is too good to be true, it probably isn't what it seems. In a case like mine, "frugality" cost me a lot of time and money.
