Yes, it's a sack full of stones. They are quite small, about the size of a pea, and one bag is enough for a small (2.5 to 5 gallon, I think) aquarium. There is a wide range of colors and they are fairly uniform in size so generally none of them get sucked into my siphon hose when I clean my tank (I confess a few bits got through). . I love these stones for their beautiful neutral tone and will likely purchase another bag when I need a larger aquarium for my ever growing comet goldfish.
