also good for the garden!

I like the size of this gravel. I have used it to filter potted plants so not sure of aquarium effectiveness but the stones are small and smooth as described. Perfect for my use!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Good Rocks!: Aquarium Substrate

This box full of bricks rocks! The variety of colors of the stones is really reminiscent of a creek bed. I'll let anyone looking know that Β£5 for a 10 gallon aquarium isn't enough as I found out when they were places.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Not the best

Very attractive. suitable for fish and aquatic animals

The gravel is slightly larger than the natural gravel normally sold. Looks great in our tanks. The only thing I would like is that they were sold in large packages. On the plus side, the gravel is very clean and pre-rinsing is easy. Done less than 2 water changes, everything is perfectly clean.

Pros
  • trial period for one year
Cons
  • small parts

Nice natural look but rinse before use

I have a neutral color that looks natural in my Betta aquarium. Living plants seem to thrive on it. Make sure you rinse it very, very well. When I first used it, I only flushed it once and the tank became cloudy within a few hours. I took it out and rinsed it thoroughly for a few minutes and that solved the problem.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

i have stones - Gravel

Yes, it's a sack full of stones. They are quite small, about the size of a pea, and one bag is enough for a small (2.5 to 5 gallon, I think) aquarium. There is a wide range of colors and they are fairly uniform in size so generally none of them get sucked into my siphon hose when I clean my tank (I confess a few bits got through). . I love these stones for their beautiful neutral tone and will likely purchase another bag when I need a larger aquarium for my ever growing comet goldfish.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...
