The product does not look like the picture on any surface other than white. The dark colors seem to make the pattern much less noticeable. It also doesn't look like leather. The plastic is too thin so they can't put a very realistic pattern on it. So the product has no real depth resulting in a good pattern that just doesn't look like real leather. Reminds me of cheap plastic in cars. They remind you a little, but you'll never guess that this is leather. As others have said, since the product is so thin, the background you cover will affect the color of the final product. White turns bright red and black turns dark red. On the other hand, if you're careful it's easy to install and looks good from more than a few feet away. I used it for door inserts on my Celica.
