Review on πŸ’» SilverStone Mini-STX Computer Case RS232 Cutout, Dual 2.5" HDD/SSD Support, VESA Mounting Kit - VT02B by Samuel Hansen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the few mini STX's still available

The case of the VT02 is, as expected, well made. I want it to look as good vertically as it does horizontally. Yes, it's an STX, and it already takes up a bit of space horizontally, but it's almost non-existent in the vertical orientation. Unfortunately, they were more concerned with the VESA mount than the looks. It has two cutouts on the top for additional USB ports, but doesn't come with the ports or how to install them if you have them. ports. The advantage is that you can use a standard Intel CPU fan with your CPU. The back has handy holes for antennas and a serial port if you need one. I used Knockout to install an extra USB port. The LEDs are a bit bright, but the black paint on their domes has softened them. Note that although it says you can install two 2.5" drives, I was only able to install one. The included cables barely made it through one drive and couldn't reach the second.

Pros
  • Computer case
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
