Review on StarTech.com Active Mini DisplayPort to VGA Converter for Mac/PC - 1080p Video - VESA Certified - mDP 1.2 to VGA Dongle by Jesse Blair

I've bought many of these StarTech adapters (15+) and have never had a problem with them. We mainly use them with Mac laptops, but also some Dell XPS laptops. They actually look well built, which surprised me at first since they are a lot cheaper than Apple branded adapters. I've tried a few other brands, like the HDE Mini DisplayPort to VGA Female Adapter for MacTM and the gold-plated Cable Matters Mini DisplayPort (Thunderbolt™ Compatible) to VGA Female to Female Adapter in Black, but we had one few unexpected .failed after just a few uses. These brands are a lot cheaper but I'm willing to pay more for StarTech's much better quality/reliability.
