    The thing worked great! After trying almost everything to display my desktop on a Dell laptop through a projector, the image on the wall was at the same time trying to get to Fort Knox! I don't have the old style video port (blue color) on my laptop, only HDMI and Mini Display Port. I connected my laptop to a ViewSonic projector with an HDMI cable, and no matter what I did, I couldn't view the laptop's desktop on the wall and at the same time see the desktop/use the mouse on the laptop. .     I bought this adapter instead of the Cirago Mini Active DisplayPort to VGA Adapter (DPA2011) because it was cheaper. But let me tell you, it works! It really works! If I had a dollar for any VGA or DVI adapter that's low-quality junk, I'd snag it. I was so pleased when this adapter worked straight away with no issues.     Great alternative to Apple adapters

    I've bought many of these StarTech adapters (15+) and have never had a problem with them. We mainly use them with Mac laptops, but also some Dell XPS laptops. They actually look well built, which surprised me at first since they are a lot cheaper than Apple branded adapters.     Saved our lives! VGA over Cat5 system. It kept losing signal and refusing to stay on for more than a second. After trying everything we could think of (computer replacement, VGA cable replacement, Cat5 cable replacement, projector replacement), we finally tried an adapter other than the standard Apple Mini DP-to-VGA adapter off.     My new Lenovo Thinkpad Twist doesn't have the analog VGA port that I need to connect to older projectors. But it has a display port.     Great device for connecting a large external monitor to a Microsoft Surface Pro

    Ever since I switched my main PC from a very large screen and heavy laptop to a Microsoft Surface Pro, there have been quite a few jobs that need to be done on the small screen are more difficult. The StarTech adapter has allowed me to connect an external AOC 23-inch monitor to my Surface Pro while I'm in the office, and it works great.     It didn't work with the docking station. UPS always at least one day later than promised

    I had to return this item because it didn't work with my Macbook Dock. Maybe not as "active" as advertised. Also, Revane, please stop shipping my stuff via UPS. Any item sent to me via UPS is always "late" and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, not upstate. I thought I'd never say this, but USPS is way more reliable than UPS.

    Worth the extra money for a better product.

    Had to buy this model one by one was terrible. I bought another adapter from this company a year ago with no problems. It costs a little more, but holds up well. Worth the extra money. My old device made my monitor flicker and I ended up getting blue screens of death. Do not chase cheapness, it is better to buy this device.
