I've never had a "good" bread knife, I've only had the ones that come in the Walmart knife set. Faberware etc. I HATE how they keep tearing my bread into pieces. I mean hello It's called a bread knife. He has to cut bread, doesn't he? So based on that experience, I never felt the need to buy a bread knife when I had my "good" knife set. I bake a lot of bread and am tired of my regular 8-10 inch knives crushing my bread to cut it. I'll start by telling you how pleased I am with this knife. It's so incredibly light that your hand won't hurt or get tired when you're cutting a lot. The serrated blade is flexible enough not to damage soft bread, yet has enough cutting power to effortlessly slice through crusty bread. I've also used this bread knife for tomatoes because it came in handy when making an egg BLT sandwich. It sliced through the tomato without crushing or tearing the tomato itself. Definitely the best knife I've ever owned.
