Once the gasket is in place, installing this cooler is much, much, much easier and doesn't feel like the painful experience described below. This is because the distance the hex bolt has to travel is much less. Cooler Master can make this process even easier by changing the pattern to mark the screw and actual gasket with a hole in the bottom. See attached drawings "E and D", the left without black filling in the hole, the right drawing with filling in the hole. Cooler Master: Please make this change! Old review: I installed this CPU cooler on several computers, all LGA 1150. In my current setup, the backplate installation went smoothly. Installing the front bolts/bushings went without incident. However, the placement of the X-frame and its attachment to the front brackets was hampered by the fact that even with a flat fit of the X-frame into the crest of the processor heater plate (for all its oddities), the mounting screws were several millimeters. Except for the front tanks. The attachment required the X-frame to be loaded to the flex point to complete the connection. It required such strength that my hands were injured. The simplest explanation for this (and no, I didn't neglect the correct fit of the X-frame with its handle and U-notch) is that the connecting bolts were 5-8mm or so too short. If for some weird reason I had to reinstall this heatsink, I'd probably start at the hardware store and try to find longer screws for front mounting. I'm really sorry to write this as otherwise this CPU cooler is a great device and at a very good price.
