When my aging cat peed a lot, I, a veteran of cat ownership for years, was pushed to my limits trying to balance neatness, cleanliness and realism . I purchased this product from a local pet store based on what was advertised on the box: aging cat, frequent urination etc. Sounds like me! Now I can't say enough good things. The crystals absorb and chemically alter the urine to eliminate odors. There are no lumps - or scoops (really). The stool still needs to be removed daily and is dry but not lumpy. How often the linens need to be changed depends on the amount of linens in relation to the amount of urine. Crystals change color. Throw everything in the bin, wipe the box (clean handkerchief - or whatever suits you.) Start again, repeat. It's probably a bit more expensive, but I think it's worth it.
