This jacket is well tailored: all stitching is perfect - nothing crooked, no loose threads or skipped stitches. Fully lined for warmth and comfort, it's thick but not too hot or bulky - a mid-weight coat for freezing temperatures I'd say. There are plenty of pockets and they close with either a snap or zip so your little one doesn't lose their little treasures (or gloves/mittens). The sleeves are adjustable for a custom fit. The hood is not detachable. The zips work well, there is a flap that closes the main zip.
