1) it would be possible to treat thicker towels more gently. Less than 1/4 inch more room in the hook secures my towel better. 2) it sticks too well. what I mean? I have a 19 year old and a 10 year old son and the hook fell off taking layers of paint and drywall with it (and neither of them will admit to pulling it off the wall but they know if they did). did). Note: We replaced a pair of these dual hook towel rails that were installed through drywall anchors. The guys also managed to pull them both down. Honestly, I think the word "pull" is a real problem. We showed them how to remove towels from hooks (both types) and since they're designed to hold a towel, simply pulling on your towel *may* never work if the glue wasn't so strong , they would just pull the hook out of the wall (that's been my previous experience with the 3m sticky pads that come with other Command products before they damage the surface they're on.) Again, I'd be the same upset when my towel would fall off the bathroom floor when I was showering. there really is no middle ground.
