I have an old room air conditioner that blows through the window. It works very well and is very nice to have. You have a condensate collector that fills with water and you have to unplug it to drain it when it's full or it won't work. Unfortunately, the fork somehow disappeared while being stored last winter. I still wanted to use the air conditioner, but didn't want to leave a wet towel in the pan all day, so I picked up the air conditioner and found a plastic container to put condensation underneath, with a drop of condensation dripping into it. I bought this pump from Revain, a few feet of equal size tubing, and an on/off switch from a hardware store. I attached a longer hose to the pump, fed it through a window under the vent into a nearby potted plant, and placed the pump in a plastic collection container. Suction cups on the bottom of the pump keep them secure. I connected the pump to a switch so all I had to do was flick the switch to turn on the pump which emptied the container and watered the plant outside. The plant was happy and my house was cool! I liked this setup much better than emptying the device into a pot with a towel before losing the plug, so win/win!
