Ideal for training and long courses, but not for shorter courses.

This device has been very useful for me, especially for training. Only masonry and bicycle work provide good benefits from this item. It is very nice to turn on the computer after swimming, take it off your wrist and put it in the bike. Also the bike part itself is worth it as I don't know if there is another mounting option that doesn't require a wrist strap. Work in Swim Working alone and running alone or swimming in combination with running do not require this element. Even so, I keep Quick Release on all the time during workouts. Swimming: Pool: I always wear this device in the pool and have never dropped the device (1 year * 10k per week). Open Water: I do not use this device in open water as I have read other reviews and am afraid of losing it. If my only workout is a long open water swim, or if I'm doing an Olympic distance of three or less, I remove the quick release and use a regular watch band for the duration of the race/workout. Bike: I use this in combination with a Garmin Bar Fly TT mount and it works great. I use it for all training rides. When doing a long course (70.3 and >) I leave the computer on the bike and hit the start button when I exit the transition (so I don't record the swim). For shorter distances (< 70.3), I leave the watch on my wrist from the start and don't use the Quick Release Kit. Running: This is where I have the biggest problems. Although the 910 is smaller than previous versions (305, 310), it's still immensely bulky. Adding a quick release kit will move it another eighth of an inch off your wrist. I wish they had come up with something less cumbersome. I take off the quick release kit when I'm running straight. Despite this, it is very easy to switch from cycling to running with this device. Simply twist and remove the bike and then squeeze and twist your wrist. Press the circle button on the auto transition and you're gone!
