I really liked this IR thermometer at first. I've used it for a number of projects and for work. However, the plastic cap covering the batteries quickly broke and fell apart. At first I tried to glue it together, then I realized I had just bought "junk". How much would it cost to use thicker plastic for the end cap? 5 cents? 10 cents? I think this is another example of a company saving money where it shouldn't. I would happily pay another $10-20 for a product that actually works. And that's exactly what I'll do next time I buy an IR thermometer.
