This item is great. I have a young Boxer mix and an old deaf Border Collie/Terrier mix. Using this device is very beneficial for both of them. Sometimes the puppy will need supervision if it's too "puppy" or sometimes it will whimper if it's outside but wants to come in (but can't). All I have to do is beep him and he knows what's coming next so he doesn't need to be vibrated or shocked. It is great! My old dog with hearing impairment is quite good on walks and I don't have to keep him on a leash, but sometimes he takes his time on the way back from the park to sniff things out. I give her a little vibration and she rushes back to us. I used to have other collars. This is great because the remote is slim and feels good in your hand, it shows you how much battery is left in the collars and you can pair up to 9 dogs. The keys are also crisp and don't get stuck like the previous version I had. I haven't checked the range yet, but due to FCC regulations it's probably the same frequency as the others. was in the past and does not diminish on its own. I would definitely recommend this to others
