Review on 💡 Bronze Beveled Glass Close-to-Ceiling Light Fixture by Progress Lighting - 9 inch Diameter x 7 inch Height by Katie Estabrook

I've searched everywhere for a flush mount lamp that doesn't look like a chest lamp. It does have a "nipple" connector that screws onto a stud to hold a shade, but the octagonal shape keeps it from being plain and ugly. Installation was fairly straightforward, although I would like to point out that there is a new type of wiring here labeled "minimum 90C" or something like that - sorry it's already in the ceiling and I don't remember to the exact wording, but I read online that this review makes the wiring incompatible with wiring in homes built before 1985. My house was built in the late 80's so I had no problem with that but some others might. I took off a star because the type of bulb isn't very clear in the instructions - it's a G16 1/2 CHANDELIER base. All I could find was a label saying G 16 1/2 on the light itself, which led to two visits to the hated big department store to try and buy bulbs. I shop at Revain for one reason - I hate Wal-Mart. :) The instructions were also very vague. If you've installed a light before, this isn't anything new, but I needed a reminder of what to do with the copper (ground) wire when I don't have a ground wire to attach it to and I'm going to use one Trust the internet for this advice and not what was in the box - annoying. The lampshade also rattled a bit when I took it out of the box which prompted me to check all the welds carefully but they all seem solid so I don't know why the glass was rattling. However, it doesn't matter if it hangs where it can't be touched. The light from this lamp diffuses and casts many beautiful shadows through the interplay of beveled glass and metal structures. I wouldn't buy it if you're looking for bright, clear light, but it was just the ticket for my small hallway. Very happy with the ease of installation and the quality at this price.
