I thought I needed a new transmitter node that would cost me $50. One photo shows a shiny new float versus an old float that I failed miserably to repair. This product description sounds like it's for something 1989 and older, but it worked for my '93 Ford Ranger (aka Mazda b2300) with the original fuel gauge and surprisingly original fuel pump. The second photo shows that it fits snugly to the sender with no modifications.
