It really helped me to cut the sour cherries from the tree in our garden. I made enough (about 2 gallon bags) in one night to bake a few pies and a cobbler! I would give it 5 stars except that it sometimes misses the pit (the cherry falls through instead of pitting while the pit works). The best method I found was to give the piston a hard nudge and then let it rebound at its own speed. This ejected a cherry from the pit's shaft and hurled another into the pit's shaft. Once I found the rhythm (clap, pop, pop, about as fast as you can read that sentence!), I was moving faster than once every few seconds. A tool like this is an investment that will pay off in a few seasons and I'm sure it will last for many years to come!
