Review on 28 Pack Of EBL High Capacity Precharged Ni-MH AA Rechargeable Batteries With 2800MAh Capacity by Jeff Kern

Revainrating 2 out of 5

One battery in the set drains fully, which the others stay good.

So I have three sets of these EBL rechargeable batteries and I can tell you with confidence that one battery in your set will be dead every 24 hours. I use these mostly at Christmastime when our battery-lighted things come out. They’re all battery drainers, so that’s when I grab the rechargeables. This year I even bought new batteries because I thought maybe mine were old and that’s why just one would drain fully while the other two stayed full after about 24 hours. I marked which battery it was, thinking it was one bad battery, but they all do it. And I have 3 light-up Christmas things (a wicker ball with string lights, a glass Christmas tree with lights inside and the Moose with Christmas lights wall art from Kirklands), so it’s not like the item itself is defective. It’s definitely the batteries. So, if you’re going to get rechargeable batteries, you’ll need a battery tester (excellent to have anyway) so you can tell which battery has drained and then replace only that one. Until tomorrow, when you get to do it again. I don’t know if all rechargeable batteries do this, but EBL definitely does.

Pros
  • Saves money and reduces waste by not having to replace disposable batteries
Cons
  • They may not be good for use in high-pressure environments
