I bought this jacket for my 4 year old grandson who at 42lbs is an average height and height for his age. The fit is quite small, it just fits! I love the features like the zip hood, but even the buttoned hood is tight! The size I bought, 5/6, would definitely not fit a typical 5 or 6 year old. I'm keeping it because I'm concerned that the next size, 7, will be too big, but I'm not thrilled with it.
