Review on 🚚 Reese Carry Power 7054900 TransRack Conduit Carrier: Optimize Your Conduit Transportation by Hassan Tomlinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for fishing rods.

I think this will carry a lot of wire but I use it for rods. My longest rods are 7ft and with 6" PVC I can leave the reels attached. A few words on why I love this Reece rod and then a few installation tips. This kit has everything you need to install the end caps .and U-bolts to attach it to your rack.It looks like high quality stainless steel for the U-bolts and a baked finish on the aluminum end cap and door.I'm installing it on the trunk of a car so I have it installed with the door open. It remains in this position for loading/unloading. If you have space, you can open it sideways or down. The spring-loaded latch sits securely on the door and the force is adjustable. The hole for attaching of a padlock is big enough for the largest padlocks Installation: It comes with 8 screws, 4 on each end As per the instructions you can use rivets instead which I did Works with 5/32 inch diameter. I had several 3/16" rivets and they would fit with minimal drilling. I just didn't like the idea of a thief being only four bolts away from my rods and reels. I put rivets on the inside of the door so the smooth side facing my hand when loaded. I covered the rivets with some chrome plated screw caps (found at motorcycle or auto shops) with silicone to cover them. Using 6" Schedule 40 PVC tubing the caps had a little extra scope. I wrapped a 1/2" pipe. Wrap the tape around the pipe about twice to make sure it is snug before putting on the caps and drilling holes for the rivets. Thin silicone gasket around the rim ensures watertightness. Each cover has a neat square where you can add contact info. I used an old electric etching tool to write down my driver's license number. I'm hoping this will give added protection against theft. I have 8-1/2" by 10" PVC pipe My longest rods are 7" and I could use about 7ft 8" for the pipe by sliding the four rods/coils on the end of the door. With the extra length I can neatly fit four more coils for a total of eight After calculating the cost, I found that this solution is only 10-20% more expensive, more weather resistant and requires much less work.
