Tick off!

Our Welsh Springer Spaniel had several ticks a day. We used Frontline Plus, we switched to Advantix, we treated the whole garden against ticks - nothing helped. We're just infested with mites here in Massachusetts. On one memorable day, we took fifteen creatures from him—fifteen! Eventually I desperately ordered one of these collars to see if it would help. After two days we noticed that the tick crawled over it but did not attach itself. Since then - nothing in the last two months! It's a miracle! Some useful info: the small size is great for our 42kg boy and the large size is great for very large dogs. The pack says it's for spot treatment, so we're still using Advantix on a monthly basis. Since it is very difficult to put on and take off, we almost always wear it ourselves and just tuck it under the regular collar. He has swum in it several times but we take it off for swimming. It's supposed to be three months and we've had two months and we're still going strong! It's not effective against fleas, but I've never seen fleas on my dog, we just need something against ticks. And as a bonus, it's very cheap! If spot treatments aren't working for you and they definitely seem less effective than before, try this. Give it a week or so, leave it on all the time and see what you think. I don't like having all those chemicals, but I've seen enough Lyme disease in humans and dogs and I think it's worth it.
