This scale was packaged fairly well by Revain but when I opened the box it was definitely sent back. There were new batteries in the package, but there were ALSO batteries in the scale. Although the description says "free batteries (AAA) included", I doubt they tried to be that generous. The outer foam packaging was missing small pieces next to the weights and they bounced around a bit, but didn't land on the scale that was in the adjacent section. A very old fashioned look. OK. I have previously purchased refurbished items and they worked fine. but now to calibrate it. To calibrate: I held the calibrate button down until 400g flashed on the screen, added 400g (including 2 weights) and it said PASS. BUT as a skeptic I did pretty much the same thing except this time I just put in a 200g weight and. (yes-yes-yes) PASS (see picture)! I can put anything like 100 grams or more on it and it says "PASS". In this case PASS = FAIL. come back
