I have insanely high pH and KH levels in tap water (GH is zero due to water softener). In my other tanks, the KH is around 12 degrees (214.8 ppm) and the pH has always been 8.6-8.8. After a few weeks of using ADA Revinia light, my KH dropped to 6 degrees (107 ppm) and my pH dropped. until 7.8. The only difference between this tank and my others is the substrate, so I have to think that's the culprit. In the past I had to be very careful when introducing new fish due to the shock of such high numbers. I'm still cautious of course, but I feel much calmer. In time I will be replacing all of my Fluval substrate with it.
