I now have a Quadro P4000 and a Quadro RTX 4000 so I'll try to help you with a professional decision. Gamers should refer to the Geforce RTX and GTX reviews: Based on research and my personal experience, Quadro relies heavily on OpenGL stability and accuracy, especially when combined with ECC memory and multi-core processors (more than 4 cores IMO ). The exception is the single core performance in the simulation (CPU architecture which I prefer to Intel in this category). The RTX 4000 is unique because it unleashes the FP16 performance normally reserved for gaming cards (hmmm). And any program based on Direct 3D performance is now running on steroids. **UPDATE: My favorite programs (SolidWorks 2019, **Solid Edge 2020, Adobe Premiere/Photoshop, **Keyshot 9, Blender) - everyone loves this new RTX 4000 card (in one form or another): > SolidWorks 2019 ( heavy works with OpenGL and some D3D) - performance gain is ridiculous (thanks Dassault) - especially viewport, animation and render performance. Go for 4000+ - if you need scientific data/accuracy. Dassault Pays Attention (IMO)>** Solid Edge 2020 (OpenGL with D3D acquisition) - stable and functional - EXCELLENT SIEMENS - the latest version is a gem (modeling and generative design is amazing). RTX 4000 and P4000 are good choices >** Keyshot 9 Render (Holy God!) - I have to change this review because the new Keyshot 9 is great with GPU/CPU rendering that will blow your mind. The RTX 4000 is a real beast when it comes to rendering on the GPU (thanks, Keyshot team) > Blender (Direct 3D Heavy) - models run much faster, viewports are loaded and managed better, mesh transform and animation are incredible (thanks to the FP16 -Performance thrust). Much easier to work between Parametric (high triangle files) and Polygonal (low triangle files) with RTX>**Adobe (All you have) โ Much more RTX support since my last review. Adobe will not remain silent in this revolution. The RTX 4000 works well with Adobe products. OpenGL (professionals): widely used in computer-aided design (CAD), virtual reality, scientific visualization, information visualization, flight simulation, and video games. [Wikipedia] Direct3D (now for gamers and professionals): This is a graphical application programming interface (API) for Microsoft Windows. As part of DirectX, Direct3D is used to render 3D graphics in applications where performance is important, such as B. Games. [Wikipedia] Please do some research - I hope it helps newbies looking for Quadro features.
