it should work well enough for 90% of users. if you don't have a predefined network.

I don't know why others are having such setup issues. It was easier than setting up Alexa. The hardest part was finding the app. and you absolutely must install the app. Pros: With 4 units (I have an extension), it covered my 2,000 square foot house fairly well, as well as front and back yards. I was able to set my own password and router name and the name was the same for all 4 devices. The connection was fast enough to stream a movie on one device while watching it on another. The switch synchronized the Ethernet port on the advertised 1G. All in all, thng does exactly what it says on the tin: Provides a seamless mesh network for all devices within the same Wi-Fi. Cons: You have to download and use the app to set up devices. To use the app, you need to register with an email address. There doesn't seem to be any reason for it, so my only conclusion is to sell your information. I gave it a one-shot so I have no idea where it went. Switching from one device to another was anything but smooth. Normally you had to disconnect while walking and then reconnect to the next one. As mentioned above, throughput was fine. All devices go through the same 1G port on the base unit, so ALL devices are limited to that total. You cannot override the internal DHCP server. So if you already have a home network with certain devices via DNS, they won't be recognized because it creates a completely different network, usually on the 192.168.58.0 subnet. so anything that isn't there won't be visible. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who has a typical home network: ISP, Coupla tablets, phones, laptops etc. I'm not sure I'll go the whole house and put all the 4k TVs on it. but should fit most portable devices. for the price it's great. goes head-to-head with eero for 1/3 the cost.
