Very slow upload/download speed with grid

Very bad upload/download speed. I had a 1Gbps connection, but this mesh supports a maximum download speed of 60Mbps and an upload of 7Mbps.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Cheap and doesn't work

Out of 3 only 1 could work properly. The instructions state that an ethernet cable is included, but the outer packaging does not (they do NOT include an ethernet cable). There is no way to change the device's password, only the password to login to the Vilo account on the web. An online account by itself is pretty much useless, except for your email address spamming you. They're really inexpensive, but they're absolutely "no frills" from any type of device.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • No paint required

Great product at an incredible price!

I had never heard of this brand but decided to give it a try. I was shocked. It was packaged like an Apple product and appears to be well made. Setup was very easy via the iPhone app and after I set up the first, the 2nd and 3rd devices just connected automatically. My brother has an Orbi system that cost him over $500 and that thing was a lot harder to set up. Now in my house covering an area of more than 4000 square meters. Feet everywhere a 5 band signal!

Decent coverage but product has issues

Vilo devices didn't work with my cable modem when I first tried to set up the system and it took quite a while to finally get things working. Once set up, the devices offered quite good coverage and transmission speeds. I found the lack of any advanced options a bit disappointing. I had to assign a static IP address to some devices and the rest used DHCP, but I found this was not possible. The biggest problem I found is the media server running on my local network. Basically, Vilo devices were…

Great bang for the buck.

I'm a 70 year old tech lover and I have to say I'm impressed. Let me stress that this is NOT a paid confirmation. I paid for this item through Revain. I've never had such an easy and error-free WiFi setup. This is my first experience with Mesh WiFi and it exceeds all expectations. For the price it couldn't be better. I hope Vilo Living will benefit from this, because the "return on investment" is astronomical compared to the competition. The programming interface (application) is also flawless,

Poor and intermittent bandwidth

I just received this product and yes it was easy to set up and I got 158Mbps download speed initially compared to the 38Mbps I got on my old one device got. After setting up another mesh module and updating the firmware, the throughput dropped to unusable download values of 2-3 Mbit/s and rose to 20 Mbit/s. I restarted the cable modem and then the Vilo devices, gave it about 15 minutes to stabilize and still experienced intermittent performance. I had to go back to the original settings and…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Very expensive

I don't know why others are having such setup issues. It was easier than setting up Alexa. The hardest part was finding the app. and you absolutely must install the app. Pros: With 4 units (I have an extension), it covered my 2,000 square foot house fairly well, as well as front and back yards. I was able to set my own password and router name and the name was the same for all 4 devices. The connection was fast enough to stream a movie on one device while watching it on another. The switch…
