Review on Flashforge Adventurer 3D Printer with Detachable Precision Leveling System by Aaron Collins

Beyond the thrill

Great printer ready to use. Very beginner friendly. For a 3D printer, that's very good. What I like about this printer is the automatic table leveling and the ability to cut on the computer and click send to printer. It is then stored in the printer's memory and you can select it from there later when needed. I'm glad I got my Ender 3 v2 back and got this one. The Ender was cheaper, but with the upgrades I bought for it, it cost 50 more than this one and didn't even come close to Flash Forge quality. I had a BL touch which I returned before opening, upgraded springs, full metal hot end, Capricorn bowden tube, Creality body (just because of this enders 3 v2 the price was close to it and it broke at of installation, so the quality was rubbish). All in all, this printer is worth the money. With this machine, loading and changing filament is very easy! I first printed out a calibration cube which came out fantastic. I then printed out the spool extension (in the video I uploaded) to use my filaments. While PLA is great, I'm trying PETG, and after printing the vent extractor I'm going to try my ASA roll. Cons: The bed is actually quite small, but should be enough for most prints. . You need to print Thingiverse's spool extension. Flashcloud and Polarcloud for remote printing aren't that great. A little slow. So far the prints I've tried have really stuck to the bed a lot. They come off almost effortlessly, down to the edges. I actually had to scrape that edge hard to get it off. Edit: 05/18/21 My first print with ABS (the item in the picture that is in the printer) was fantastic, and it wasn't even a high quality slicing setup, nor was there any rafting or edging. I also printed cheap PETG, it took some time to flatten the bed with a thicker than paper business card, but it printed fantastic with my own crop settings. I recommend using glue stick or painters tape as this thing gets caught on the bed. Problems I encountered :-After several prints I had to reorient the bed in all 9 points because it was too narrow on one side. For the first few prints I didn't level the bed at all and it came out perfectly. - USB slot doesn't read USB or SD card (it doesn't really bother me as it's more convenient to print directly from the slicer). The camera is junk. Fixes - To connect to Flashcloud or Polar Cloud, you only need to enable one, not both. - If you're having trouble connecting to WiFi, make sure you're using the correct IP address. Mine successfully connected to one address but after I updated the firmware it had a different IP address. If your prints are sticking to the bed badly, calibrate your bed and move it 1 notch up.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
