Review on Sylvania Portable Rechargeable Battery Adapter by Jerry Frey

Great Buy! Bought this for my adoptive daughter for Christmas as we constantly drive the car between our house and her mother's house. What a life saver! She totally loves it! The remote control is a bit tiny and difficult for a 6 year old considering she is not very good at reading and has a lot of buttons but after some explanation she took it off. The only annoying thing is that the main buttons aren't in their usual places (volume is mixed up with other adjustment buttons) and we'll have to describe where it is/how it looks, but I'm picky (and the parents drive). ). Seems to be of lower quality than others I've had in the past, but it gets stuck in a parking lot and falls off the car seat, and the pencil-stained screen happens (nothing to do with quality per se, but it's fairly easy to remove with a little elbow grease). The buttons on the DVD player itself and the remote control aren't as sturdy and responsive as I'd hoped, but she wasn't complaining! TIP: After a few months of use, we learned that you have to press and hold the forward/backward button to change the volume without the remote. Maybe not advice, but we couldn't figure it out after "lost" the remote control (oops). I love that it comes with a car charger, although the battery lasts at least four (!) hours. probably more never timed but our rides are around 4.5 hours one way and she may need to charge for the last hour or two on the way back to her mum. The cables are a bit short so the DVD player needs to be placed conveniently in the car BUT the swiveling screen is a great solution! She can twist it any way she wants so she can see it comfortably even when she's lying down or hunching over. It also comes with a TV connection, which is great for us, but doesn't come with RCA cables(?) (yellow-red-white cables) so add it to your basket if you don't have one, or ask for one Friend. You probably know someone who lived through the 90's and has an extra somewhere with those VCRs ;) I can't figure out how to convert my DVDs to a flash drive or SD card, so I can't comment on this question. Side note: Suggestions would be welcome! We took the CDs out of their cases and put them all in a CD holder, which is difficult for them to handle while driving, but we got a lesson on proper DVD/CD handling (holding technique, press stop before opening , put her back in the holder, etc.) and she's a pro! I hope we will have .mp4 files soon to make movie watching more convenient! Overall this is a great product for the price. Much cheaper and easier to use than the iPad. My iPad bores them after a few hours without WiFi. She loves having her own electronic device (a good lesson in responsibility, before she ever buys her own iPad) and it will keep her busy and calm for hours.
