The first thing a circuit breaker should do is operate at rated current. It's not like this. I connected this 250 amp version to my RV's 2500 watt inverter. I have a 2/0 wire from the battery through this switch to the inverter. In the morning I turn on the 1400w coffee pot and it turns off. At 12.5V it should only be around 120A, my lithium battery handles that pretty well. Even if it bounces around a bit, this should get by without any problems. I have verified that this inverter draws 1375 watts at 120 volts with the coffee pot on. The circuit breaker should not operate under this load. I suspect the 100A switch was marked 250A. Approved. I just installed an American made 250 amp circuit breaker and everything worked fine. I just changed the breaker and 2 2/0 (3/8" bore) tips and everything worked fine. The new breaker was 3 times more expensive but definitely worth it. Unfortunately the ceramic on this glass is broken gone so can't send it back This is one of those cases where being cheap costs me money.
