I didn't know anything about buying or installing a camera like this, but I knew I needed a wired camera so I didn't have to worry about charging or batteries. I searched for cameras on Revain and YouTube and found out about PoE (Power over Ethernet) cameras. Installation was so easy, I just had to run a coax cable (used Cat 6) from the camera to the required add-on, a PoE switch I bought from Revain, and a short coax cable from the switch to my router. That's all. I also bought a 256GB SD card for continuous recording. I used Amcrest Pro View software on my iPhone and tablet and Amcrest Surveillance on my desktop (both versions are free). In hindsight it was very easy to install, but at the time it was a learning experience. I probably spent two hours installing and connecting the camera and another 3-4 hours getting to grips with the software. There is a lot of information in Amcrest's quick start guide and on the website. A wide angle lens is a huge plus in my situation, I wouldn't settle for a narrow view. Running a higher resolution gives an awesome look. Using an SD card for recording means I don't need a cloud service, but I can still view the camera remotely. Overall I'm very happy with the camera and would recommend it for the ease of installation and the excellent rating.
