Review on 🏠 White Google Nest Protect S3000BWES - Battery-Operated Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector by Paarvin Freedman

UPDATE January 2020: The oven's self-cleaning function has been activated, creating a lot of particles in the air. The cheap old school detector I bought after the Nest crashed responded to partial files. The three REPLACEMENT nest detectors do not. Damn. Waste of over $300. save your money Serious. Original review: I have three of these devices. Two with batteries, one wired. I was toasting tortillas with cheese in the oven and for a minute I forgot. Luckily I was sitting next to the stove and saw black smoke coming out of it. No warning. I opened the oven and saw the flame. No warning. I threw it in the sink and turned on the faucet to put out the flames. No warning. JE. The alarm only goes off when I'm cooking and some olive oil starts smoking, but not when there's an open fire burning in my oven. Garbage. Come back to Revain to buy old school smoke detectors. waste of money. Called Nest Support. Do one set between three reps for a total of 40 minutes. Finally the last rep had me do a security check which showed all 3 units were in good working order. The representative created a ticket and said someone would be monitoring my situation and contacting me. UPDATE: Nest sent me a replacement. I installed them but don't trust them as they haven't found anything wrong with the ones I've had. Installed an old school smoke alarm next to the nest in the hallway. We will see.
